About Us
Who We Are
The URI Crew Team has a rich tradition of excellence producing several Olympic and World Champion athletes, as well as several of today’s top coaches.
The fall is spent developing technique and competing in “Head” style racing, including the prestigious Head of the Charles. Athletes spend the winter doing land training, in preparation for head-to-head sprint racing in the spring. In the spring the team attends large regattas including the Knecht Cup and New England Rowing Championships before competing in the American Collegiate Rowing Association Championships.
Our team offers members the opportunity to engage in intercollegiate competition, with no experience necessary. The team competes in regattas primarily in the northeast, against colleges from all over the U.S., including other club teams, and fully funded varsity programs.
