2023 Fall Season Recap
Womens Novice 8 at the finish of their race where they got 5th overall.
After last year's finishes at ACRA, we were very excited to get back on the water with the largest novice class since before Covid. With over 70 members on the team and a few weeks of rowing on the water, URI Crew had a fantastic head racing season with strong showings across the Men's and Women's sides.
URI first competed at the Head of the Snake Regatta with the Women's Varsity four handily winning and bringing back the first gold medal of the season. The Men's Varsity four also had a strong showing with a bronze finish in their race.
Only 2 weeks later, URI went to the Head of the Charles Regatta for the first time in 2 years sending 4 boats. The Women's Varsity four again blew past the competition getting 5th place overall and being the best finish the team has gotten in recent history.
URI Crew ended the season with a bang at the Head of the Fish Regatta where most boats got a top 10 finish:
-
M1V8--- 4th
-
W1N8---5th
-
M1N8---5th
-
M2x---6th
-
M2N8---7th
-
M1V4---7th
-
W1V8---10th
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the season possible. Without the outstanding support of parents and alumni, we would not have had the food or means to sustain a roster of 70 rowers. We are looking forward to a long season in the erg room getting ready for our most exciting spring yet.
